WBA Aachener Werkzeugbau Akademie: Digitalization for more sustainability

07.09.2021 10:58

The networking of systems, the digitalization of processes and the consideration of ecological and social aspects - without a complete abandonment of economic principles - this is becoming more and more fundamental for the German tool and die industry. As WBA Aachener Werkzeugbau Akademie GmbH will further discuss on the occasion of Kuteno 2021, only a digitally networked and primarily sustainable moldmaking industry will be able to compete on the global market and be robust and resilient in times of crisis. Because those attributes consequently hold immense differentiation potentials in international competition. The basics and techniques to implement them exist. Nevertheless, too few moldmaking companies are still focusing on emission-free and sustainable activities.

For more than ten years, the company has been helping toolmakers to master challenges such as these and to exploit opportunities in a targeted manner. That is why WBA is devoting itself entirely to the topic of sustainability on the Circular Economy Podium at this year's Kuteno. On September 7, 2021, Dr.-Ing. Christoph Kelzenberg will talk about the CO2 tool passport, which makes the sustainable actions of toolmaking companies visible and, in this way, differentiates them from the competition.

On September 8, 2021, Rainer Horstkotte will follow with a presentation on the topic "Circular Economy in Toolmaking - With Digitalization to Sustainable Manufacturing?!". He will show approaches for a circular economy in toolmaking and describe the role of digitalization as an enabler of sustainable production.
