PTFE-Films

PTFE Polytetrafluoroethylene films
Our polytetrafluoroethylene film is a highly semi-crystalline plastic with a very low coefficient of friction. It is soft, easily deformable, very susceptible to creep and not very resilient, although it is quite stable under high temperatures. Its resistance to radiation is poor. Polytetrafluoroethylene cannot be processed in the melt. Although PTFE theoretically melts at 327°C, its melt viscosity is practically infinite. Polytetrafluoroethylene is therefore only processed in powder metallurgical processes.

Application of PTFE film

Its unusual properties make polytetrafluoroethylene an indispensable component of laboratory applications. PTFE is also used in the manufacture of bearings, seals, O-rings, high-temperature electrical insulation or even non-stick coatings.
