On June 22 and 23, 2021, machine builder Windmöller & Hölscher held its second "Virtual Expo" to demonstrate newfangled techniques and product chain. In three Tech Arenas, one on extrusion, one on printing and one on processing, W&H experts gave twelve different presentations. W&H subsidiaries Bürge, a specialist in paper bag machines, and Aventus, focused on FFS technology, were represented in the Tech Arena for converters and fillers. On top of the sessions, sales contacts from around the world were available on the platform for customized discussions and consultations. The twelve tech sessions focused on the three main themes of efficient production, Packaging 4.0 and sustainability. Modern technologies such as the Optimex II blown film line in a working width of 2,600 millimeters and the associated, thoroughly new Filmatic II O winder were demonstrated. The innovations for printers also included a new winder that has been updated for less waste and high winding quality. In addition, there were specific explanations of the flexo and gravure printing processes with a focus on the selected automation and handling systems.
