Mylar a is an electrical insulating film made of polyethylene terephthalate and is used as a surface insulating material up to and including insulation class b (130°c).
Property:
Mylar a is tensile and tear resistant, dimensionally stable and shows excellent electrical properties.
The material has good heat and cold resistance to the most common solvents.
application
Mylar a is used as interlayer and cover layer insulation in transformers, chokes and relay coils.
Mylar a is also used as groove and phase insulation, as cover slider and sleeve, as insulating layer in electrical devices and as carrier material for electrical insulation tapes.
It is also used in the production of stencils. Excellent for airbrushing.
